This is a pretty fun game and it is very well designed. It gets addicting very quickly trying to make the best games and train the best staff, but the game quickly becomes too laggy to continue. By the time I made it to the third city the game was nearly unplayable with a 13-14 person staff. Its a shame too, because I never got to make a medium sized game.

The game ran fairly fine with the quality set on low, but every month it reset back to high, and it was honestly too annoying to keep changing it back.

Hard as shit

But fun too! You definitely captured the style of an old-school arcade shooter, one that kicks your ass without mercy. The gameplay got a little too hectic at times, especially with some of the asteroids blending into the background, but it was still fun. At no point in time did I ever think of quitting because of the difficulty, though I did swear a lot.

The controls are good and the music is on point. The artwork is great too (reminds me of your old animation style where everything was very straight and lined with glow filters up the ass) and it was a great game to play. Good work. Make more shit.

Haha, thanks buddeh. Hopefully I will be soon.

You could teach a class with these

This tutorial is amazing! Thank you so much for creating this. You included so many different elements that the title is almost misleading. When I opened it I thought this would be a simple tutorial on how to create lineart. Then I got to the page with various resources for drawing poses. I spent a good ten minutes on that site before I realized I was trying to watch a tutorial.

You section on perspectives, especially two and three point perspectives, was amazing and very VERY helpful.

The actual lineart portion of the tutorial was very informative. Just like your coloring tutorial, I could follow this step-by-step and create a great looking picture as well as help my drawing abilities.

I mean this honestly, if you made a tutorial on drawing techniques and combined it with this tutorial and your coloring tutorial, you could teach a class.

Thank you for making such an amazing tutorial! You really inspired me to improve my artwork and animations. Thanks again and good luck with anything you do in the future.

Very nice

Very nice tutorial. Everything was clearly explained and had very clear examples/diagrams to aid in the learning. You did a great job of teaching how to draw a hand instead of just showing everyone in a few steps and expecting everyone to "just get it".

I'm glad I found this tutorial when I did. I'm working on a piece for a collab and there is a shot where I have to draw hands. I suck at drawing hands and now that I found your tutorial I can now go back and redraw them to look good.

Thank you again and very good job.

Nice.

Very simple, yet very nice and well polished game.

The graphics had a nice cartoon-like style to them. They were very smooth, colorful, and overall fun to look at.

The game mechanics were simple, but effective. At times it seemed hitting Bush in the face was easy while at other times it was impossible. Good variation, intended or not.

Audio was great too.

Overall it was a fun game based on an awesome event. Nice job.

Needs Polishing

The engine you have is great, but overall this game needs a lot more polish before it is truly finished.

The engine works and the jumping feels alright. The music was great and the menu style was really creative. Points for those.

However the little things is what made this game bad. The health status and score numbers are cut off and don't show up fully, making the health status very hard to notice. A bar of some sorts would have been better for the player to realize how long he had until he died.

The platforms in the middle of the level were not a good choice either. If you jumped while below a platform you would be shot down immediately into a ball and lose health. It made that part of the game very hard. A challenge is by no means a bad thing, but it seemed brutal.

Overall your engine works great, but put a little more polish on it before you submit another game.

Good luck with future projects.

Thanks for reporting the bugs, it all worked fine on my end.

Got the cut off text fixed :)

A nice surprise

At first I thought there wasn't much depth to this game. I thought it was way too easy at the beginning, but by the end I realized there is a bit of strategy to beat this thing. Nice job on that.

Art and animation wise this game was weak. The art was clean and nice, but there was very little of it. Everything there was highly detailed, but there could have been more. No animation made it a little boring to watch at times, but since the main point of the game is strategy it wasn't too bad. A few opening and ending movies might have made the game better.

Nice job on the programming too. No bugs that I could find.

The only thing I could say to make this game better is to add more depth to it. The little strategy you have in it now is great, and a shocker as said, but you could have had more options and events as well. Maybe enemy ships or pirates come once in a while and effect you somehow. Perhaps you could have the ability to decrease rations to even lower than half, or better yet, choose the ration amount for the day. Just a little more user control.

Over all this was a very good game. A nice surprise to the usual here on Newgrounds. Keep up the great work and good luck with future projects.

Nice style

Loved the style of this game.
The artwork was great and the animations for everything were smooth and beautiful to watch. You did some top notch work on those and it makes the game enjoyable.

The control scheme for fighting was a great idea too. Too bad it was a little sloppy. Some times attacks would't register correctly and I found myself getting my ass whooped when I should have been attacking. The specials were actually easier to pull off than the regular jabbing attacks. I also couldn't figure out how to block, but maybe that was just me.

It also would be a good idea to make the walking keys the "A" and "D" keys for people who use the mouse right handed and keep the arrow keys for leftys.

Other than these issues this game was great. Keep up the good work and practice this engine you've made. You could make some great games with it if you tightened up the controls a bit.

I liked it

Nice game you got here. Simple clean and fun.
Look wise the game was simple, but still fun to look at. Then again, nothing spectacular was needed. The pixel/old school look was a surprise though, a good surprise.

Programming wise the game was awsome. No noticable glithces. I didn't like how there seemed to be an invisible box around the gun though where it looked like the lazer would miss you, but instead hit you. Other than that though, this was very good.

Overall a simple game that's loads of fun. Nice work.

stian7 responds:

I'm very glad to hear so! It's the heat from the laser, that's why you get hit, hehe.

Thanks for the review! It helps me to improve!

Kind of cool

This wasn't anything too super awsome, but it was still fun to see the different allusions. My favorite was the American flag one.
Nice submission. Not too much to say other than that.
